Dear Jewrotica – A Note From Jewrotica Editor Ayo Oppenheimer

From The Desk Of New

Darling readers, Rated PG

Can you believe that it’s been two weeks since the official launch of Jewrotica?! Did you see our shout-outs on FreaknomicsJezebel and Gothamist? What do y’all think?

If you have what to say, make sure to join the conversation on our Facebook page and share your thoughts on individual pieces right here on the Jewrotica website.  We recently added a new anonymous commenting feature, so – even if you’re too shy to speak up through your Facebook account – we still got your back!

Over the past couples of weeks, we have started receiving requests from guys and girls alike for an “Ask Jewrotica” advice column. Well, you asked and we listened. After a lot of excitement and a lively conversation with my remarkable team, I am pleased to announce the debut of Dear Jewrotica!

This is your opportunity to ask questions about anything related to relationships, romance, sex, sexuality and Judaism. But let’s just get this out of the way right now – there are no holes in the sheet when we have sex!

However, if you find yourself wondering…

  • I’ve been dating a girl for three weeks, and she just invited me to her family’s house for Shabbat. What does that mean?
  • My friend is looking into artificial insemination as a single woman. What are the halachic ramifications of this?
  • JDate, SawYouAtSinai, Frumster, Jewcier, JSingles, SuperTova and, well, we’ll just sneak in OkCupid. Does anyone actually know what the differences are between all these Jewish dating sites?! And which one should I use?

…then send us your question today or email the team directly at [email protected] The next generation of Dr. Ruths – with varied backgrounds and a little extra bite – are here to tackle your questions!

Light and Love,
