The Blessing of Dew*

Mysterious dew.
Out of nowhere
You appear –
Glittering,
Shimmering,
Wetting,
Reviving,
Surprising.
A thin layer
Covers our skin
As the heat
From our passion
Unlocks our pores,
Lubricating,
Exhilarating,
Fascinating,
Beckoning,
For more.
And releases
The smell –
Your smell –
That arises
From the earth
Of your being,
And covers me
In the embrace
Of your tenderness.
A blessing –
Never a curse.

*As you know on the first day of Pesach we stopped saying the prayers for rain and switched to dew. his poem emerged like the dew from nowhere and everywhere.

I am a late-comer to poetry especially Jewish-laced love poetry. In the last two years I have written about 50 such poems that I am now trying to publish under the title - The Metaphysics of Love. They are about love - love for women as a metaphor for the Divine love - sometimes employing very erotic images inspired by the Song of Songs and Kabbalistic literature.
