Ethiopian hooker smiles like goats down Mt Gilead
I don’t know the names of Mounts in Ethiopia
she is Jewish anyway.
a prostitute on the hill in Spring
lunar satellite of night
all Semitic calendars are lunar,
wander like a night-Hajar as well,
welcome holy stellar caress,
return to her belly,
shekinah of sex and passion
our friction between youths houses a passion
older than the sexual jealousy of the God deprived
of the company of other Semitic idols,
her laughter and life are as spring dew on new grapes
on withered old grass where Ethiopian merchants once traded idols
before passports, right of citizenship was the glowing blue and green
light of vowels in mouths,
never to be blamed,
never to be depicted
under the grass
there are some idols of clay that resemble her

Poems of the Mare Nostrum / Costa Nostra recently released with UK publisher Hesterglock, combines drawings with poems, telling of events political and sensual, occurring in myriad countries of the sprawling Mediterranean, and of the decadence of (modern) empire falling on those shores of Satyricon, repression and geopolitical concubines, mixing myth and ancient history with the contemporary; humour with solemn contemplations of future Jewish-Arab relations.

Narrated by Desimone, who some have called ”poète maudit,” a marrano, love-addicted wandering Ahasuerus drifter-Jew, and more.

Note:
Desimone’s drawings, said to be explicit, may be frowned upon by the respectable.

Arturo was born in Aruba, emigrated to the Netherlands as a young adult and now lives in Argentina. Arturo is inspired to write about the sexual, political and religious.
