I marvel at your ear –
Its perfect contours an extension of your soul,
Twisting and turning in ever joyous complexity,
Hills and dales, cliffs and cavernous spaces,
Light and dark, shade upon shade;
A microcosm of magnificence.

I marvel at your ear –
Its delicate weave of red rivers,
Its snow covered peaks,
Its tight surfaces,
And fleshy, loose fruit.

I marvel at your ear –
And as I touch it with my tongue,
It ignites a burst of sparks
Sending flames of passion into the deep unknown.
And as I explore its rims and craters
Moonshine liquor ripples through your mind.
And as I delicately nibble the fatty tissue
A wave of sighs releases unbidden.
And as I penetrate the hidden darkness
The heat rises and the snows melt
Sending cascades of pulsating life to the ends of the world.
And as I devour you in my mouth
I whisper ‘my love’ to you, my love.

I am a late-comer to poetry especially Jewish-laced love poetry. In the last two years I have written about 50 such poems that I am now trying to publish under the title - The Metaphysics of Love. They are about love - love for women as a metaphor for the Divine love - sometimes employing very erotic images inspired by the Song of Songs and Kabbalistic literature.
