4 Minim Poem 2

I see Your lips like willow leaves –
Soft and willing, luscious and longing,
Parted in loving anticipation.
Your lips that guard Your mouth,
That cave of wondrous delight
That longs to be explored,
Your lips that smile a thousand suns
That ignite the fires of my longing
To be locked in a kiss that never ends.

I see Your body like the palm frond –
Majestic and tall, supple and strong,
Able to bend without breaking,
To sway in the winds of my love.
The heaviness of their dates
Is the sweetness of Your breasts,

Filled with arousal and subtle desire,
The Great Mother, the Goddess alive
That gives of her abundance to the suckling child.

I am a late-comer to poetry especially Jewish-laced love poetry. In the last two years I have written about 50 such poems that I am now trying to publish under the title - The Metaphysics of Love. They are about love - love for women as a metaphor for the Divine love - sometimes employing very erotic images inspired by the Song of Songs and Kabbalistic literature.
