Four Loves

Four LovesWritten by Leon.  Leon is an experienced Jewrotica writer, and is the author of The Four Minim

I see you standing by the window, PG-13
The sunlight reflecting off your golden hair
Creating a halo of brightness,
An angelic glow of beauty.
And in this light I slowly undress you,
Touchlessly removing your outer clothes
Revealing the wonder and perfection of your body-
The silkiness of your skin,
The orbs of your breasts,
The curves of your hips,
The roundness of your buttocks,
The firmness of your legs,
The splendor of your neck,
The mystery of your womanhood.

I see you naked standing by the window,
The golden light illuminating your body.
I slowly undress you
Revealing your passion and fire,
Your compassion and resolution,
Your femininity and motherhood,
Your gentleness and vulnerability,
Your sweetness and surrender.

I see you glowing by the window,
The soft light illuminating me;
And as I slowly remove your garments
Your brilliance is revealed,
An ancient wisdom from before time,
A knowing that simply knows,
An understanding that stands on its own,
An intuition that harbours no doubt;
A girl, a lass, a woman, a crone.

I see you aglow by the window of my mind-
Naked.
Radiant being of Divine descent,
Indweller dwelling in the light of eternity,
A presence of holiness pregnant with love,
A beginning, a middle, no end to it all.
You stand in splendour glory array
Inviting me to join you, to merge, to emerge,
To lose, to gain, to be born anew.
I stretch out my soul and embrace you.

I stand by the window
A naked glow.

*In Kabbalah, four worlds of creation are described: Atzilut (Emanation), Beriah (Creation), Yetzirah (Formation), and Assiyah (Making). The highest world is Atzilut (Emanation), where the unfolding of All is still in potential. Then there is the world of Beriah where things start coming together in thought and so forth. These can be equated in the world of cosmology as pre-big bang when all is potential energy; immediately post-big bang when the primary particles are released; some time later when the elements as we know them are formed; and a lot of time later when from these building blocks the earth is formed in all its complexity.

Likewise it is analogous to any of us who go through the creative process of having an idea, letting it take shape, planning its concretization, and then doing it. And this can be mapped out on to our own individual worlds of spirit, thought, emotions and physical being. Each world has its own vocabulary – the doing words, the feeling words, the thinking words, and the beyond words.

Clearly these states of Being are interconnected in complex ways which many times causes great confusion but by careful awareness it is possible to differentiate between them and bring understand to actions, thought and feelings. This poem travels through the four worlds from the physical to the most sublime allowing the love that is present in each level to be released.

I am a late-comer to poetry especially Jewish-laced love poetry. In the last two years I have written about 50 such poems that I am now trying to publish under the title - The Metaphysics of Love. They are about love - love for women as a metaphor for the Divine love - sometimes employing very erotic images inspired by the Song of Songs and Kabbalistic literature.
