Sex, Not Porn

Gallop’s project is interesting because it highlights the many different ways that there are to have sex–romantically, angrily, lazily, bored-ly, with seven other people, alone, blindfolded, with toys, whatever–and suggests that people can move, fluidly and without too much angst, from any one of those categories at any time, and that doing so says exactly nothing about you as a person or even as a sexual being. Similar attitudes apply to body types. Porn stars with–wait for it–natural bodies are called out for it, relegated to the realm of “fetish,” as though it is an unnatural kink or perversion to be into a woman with a little junk in the trunk, or a flat chest, or full-body tats.
